Abstract

Volume 5 number 1 of Keffi Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy (KJCP) presents nineteen reputable and scholarly articles that were found publishable by our erudite assessors whose comments the editorial team strictly adhered to. The collection of articles was carefully done by the Editorial Board of KJCP. The articles are structured broadly around the following themes: substance abuse, deviant behaviours, guidance services and parenting styles Also included are play method as learning strategy for skill development of primary school children, vocational maturity on career choice, premarital counselling and marital adjustment, solution focused brief therapy on psychological adjustment challenges, personal development and academic adjustment. Other areas of coverage include truancy and delinquent behaviour, social-media and academic achievement, socio-cultural factors influencing career aspirations, emotional intelligence, story-telling, peer-influence, and academic motivation as well as psycho-social interventions. The various thematic areas were assembled by scholars from different tertiary institutions; and were both singly and collaboratively authored. It is imperative to note that our policy is to assist all those interested in publishing their ideas, researches without compromising the quality and standard. All those whose papers were not found publishable should improve their quality for the subsequent editions
